Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born March 4, 1954), is a Canadian-American actress and comedian. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of prizes which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was honored with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara began her career as an actress in 1974 as part of The Second City, an improv comedy group in Toronto. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara began working with Candy in Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara was recognized for her stand-up and writing skills, winning the Primetime Emmy Award of Outstanding Writing for Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
